Mark Rowland - Sweet Pea & Tomato Breeder

Biography of Mark Rowland

A graduate of Manchester University, Mark Rowland has worked in Horticulture all his life. Previous employment includes growth regulant research on a range of tropical crops in Rhodesia, and landscaping in Saudi Arabia. Currently pursuing several sweet pea breeding projects, as well as running both retail and commercial sweet pea seed businesses. Author of a booklet on Grandiflora Sweet Peas, four papers on growth regulant research and several articles on sweet pea cultivation.

Mark is also involved in a tomato breeding project, Gourmet Genetics, which has registered several exciting new tomato varieties and is working on a range of chillies which, like the tomatoes, are specifically bred for exceptional flavour.
